Coastguard Conference 2012, full steam ahead in Rotorua
CEO Patrick Holmes "FULL STEAM AHEAD"

Conference 2012 is fast approaching and I have to say that I am excited at having the opportunity to meet a good number of you face to face for the first time. By the time Conference arrives I hope to have been able to get out and about and visit more Units. However, if I haven’t had the chance to visit your Unit yet, please make a point of saying "hi" and introducing yourself.

As you know this will be my first Coastguard Conference and I’ve been told that Conference provokes a great sense of fellowship and camaraderie. I’m looking forward to experiencing first-hand the Gala Awards Dinner and joining with everyone in congratulating the winners of the various awards. I’ve also heard tales of the intense rivalry and fun that the tug-of-war brings out in our people – bring it on!

I am sure you will agree that we’ve put together an interesting array of topics for both the combined and individual workshop sessions. Coupled with that there will also be plenty of time for networking and socialising with volunteers from other parts of the country.

See you there.
